Evening all. Just wondering if anyone can help. Seem to be having a few head skims mid print. Looks like the ink is pooling on the media a little too…
    pic attached.
Printer is in a cool damp room to be fair… so the media is rippling a little. I feed it out a fair bit before print to ensure it’s on flat vinyl… but I had this issue in the summer too.
Head is set to low but doesn’t look to be within skimming distance.
Print test is very good. Just added a new wiper, but not much change.
By the second print it’s usually fine.

I would say the cool & damp is the cause of the vinyl buckling in the machine, as soon as cold vinyl gets near the pre-heat, that will happen a lot

Thanks for the response. I’ve wasted a load of material today and after a bit of messing about I decided to change the media thickness to thick – and also rejigged the artwork so I could fit 2 (menu boards) side by side. This seems to have helped and the prints came off great.
I think the dampness is a definite problem.
