Hi all, I hope this is in the right place as I do not want to post in a public area, anyway I am asking for your help as I have 3 light boxes to redo the graphics on, but have drawn a complete blank and it’s a bit of a rush job.
So if you have time to have a play I would really really be very grateful.
here is the wording for the 3
1 OCEAN DREAMS bar & traditional pub food
2.DANCING DOLPHINS family bar and food
3.OCEAN DREAMS for the young and young at heart
I am not asking for this to be done for me but any help would be great just ideas or anything
I look forward to hearing from somebody

Is there a color scheme?
Show us yours and we’ll show you ours.
MemberJune 28, 2010 at 9:34 pm
ideas should start with the original poster and then the guys here will be a great help!
MemberJune 28, 2010 at 9:41 pm
That was quick,
I thought someone would say that but the only thing i’m drawing is a complete blank
might help if I sleep on it
but if you can help the design can be anything full colour just vinyl etc (could be the problem) and the sizes are horizontal rectangle 2000 x 500mm
PS. Please dont make me beg

If you say pretty pretty please with a cherry on top and chocolate sprinkles I might do something for you.
But the details you’ve given are kind of slim.
MemberJune 28, 2010 at 9:54 pm
I would start looking for those cherries cos Jills def one of the design gurus round here!
MemberJune 28, 2010 at 9:56 pm
Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top and chocolate sprinkles :lol1:
I normally have some idea but Just not happening I cant be the only person this happens to
sorry for the slim details, I have free range on this, is that what you mean?
MemberJune 28, 2010 at 10:02 pm
Roughly 6 feet wide 1½ feet high?
(I love it when a man begs)
😉 😳 😀
MemberJune 28, 2010 at 10:05 pm
whos coming up with the name, you or the customer?
doesnt really tie in… pub grub in a place called ocean dreams?
sorry, just looking at the 3 options is all…
as jill says. not allot to go on there mate.
also, this really should be in the design help forum. pictures dont appear there, only the text.
there is also rules to posting asking for help, one being your own work should be submitted as a starter for others to advise on or submit their own.
MemberJune 28, 2010 at 10:10 pm
😳 enjoy the moment Jill 😳
roughly 6ft x 1 1/2ft is good
Sorry Rob I will put the final designs up, just really do not want the public to see me asking for help
I will try and do something tomorrow and then ask for help, where do I post so the public can not see?
The customers wording and there’s 3 different light boxes
Starting to feel like a bad boy is the torture over yet 🙁

Think my gears are stuck ,can feel something going on but it has been a long day so time to rest and try again with a fresh head tomorrow
I will post something for your opinions and hopefully end up with 3 good looking light boxes and one happy customer.

lee, leave it here if you want mate… it is totally closed off though so only those with membership can see it. the down side is that many site users without a membership, but still very knowledable and may help, cannot see/read it.

I have a design guru helping what more could I ask for :lol1:
I try not to ask for help and work though things myself but do not have the luxury of time and just drew a blank. but am aware of the rules for the future.

You are using fonts which I have been taught should be rendered as caps and lower case.
And Lucida Handwriting is right there on my list with Brush Script!
But I can see the feel you are going for now.
Try fixing the fonts and giving the words more contrast.
Here are the things I thought of when I woke up this morning, after reading a steamy romance novel and half an Ambien, now with one coffee.
Mine are kind of trite, especially the (barf) Dead Hardy looking one.
Sorry for the blurry pic.

forgot about the dislike in script but was limited with fonts at home, will do a couple more later, just wanted to say thanks to you for helping :lol1:

just an update job all done, not sure if I should put a pic of the final design as it contains a certain style of writing which may offend (Jill)
PS Thanks again Jill
MemberJuly 11, 2010 at 5:18 pm
Why would you care if it offends me?
If your customer liked it and you got paid for it, it’s no skin off my nose.
I am just about to leave for a grad party picnic and believe me, I will have been offended many many times before the sun sets tonight.
There are 45 people in my immediate family including three relentless older brothers, two "perfect" sisters and one very domineering mom.
I think the one brother is on vacation with one of the sisters, though.

Probably going to be more people offended if you DON’T post it up as everybody likes to see a finished result! We’re all big boys and girls – we can stand the sight of Brush script once in a while.

Still not convinced of the GREEN on the blue background…but if you and the client are happy – score!

TBH it looks better in real life then the picture, like you say David if the customer is happy then thats what matters as they are the ones paying,
my ex business partner must of been around and took the other half of the surfer (he took everything else) 😥

Yeah white would have been a better color choice on the lettering but it’s not that bad.
In honor of all the brush script lovers I snapped this gem over the weekend.
I should have taken a close up because the vinyl in "PLUMBING" had popped from all the ribs. But I didn’t want people giving me the side-eye.
I want a pipe font. I would use it for a hair salon.
MemberJuly 12, 2010 at 12:01 pm
yep white would of been better, but customer choose green.
thanks for the pic makes me feel so much better :lol1:
