    Hi Derek

As much as I would like one, I have no experience using lasers etc so i cant advise.

However, @KevinMahoney just purchased one a few weeks ago, you should maybe have a look at some of his recent posts. I am not sure the model/brand he has though.

I highly recommend them, and have had nothing but good experiences over the last 8 years. The laser industry in the UK is very catty, and there are some out there who will go to any lengths to bad mouth the competition (What bad reports exactly?). I have just bought a laser for home use (an LS6840) and my current business has 6 1290s, and a Trotec Speedy 300. I have been using HPC for 8-9 years now and honestly, they have been great. Tech support when you need it over the phone, roving engineers, and they really know their stuff!

I went for the 1600 x 900 model, 80w laser & it does exactly what we want. Bit of experimentation as with any new kit, one or two hitches but they have solved them as we go. Yes they are at the cheaper end of the scale but we need to cut acrylic letters not do laser eye surgery, don’t see the point of spending 3 times the budget on another brand, hopefully I won’t come to regret it. Decent guys, worth having half a day there to put your mind at ease. The negative comments are worrying but remember we only have one side of the story, some right numpties out there with no idea what they’re doing & want someone to blame.I’m currently struggling with a new printer & cutter, would love to have someone to blame but the problem is with the operator, not the machinery
