I came across these three videos and they made me smile because I remember them from years ago and I took a bit of flak back then for not being the most “positive” towards them.
It was not just that, but the sign magazines were promoting the SpeedPress as going to revolutionise vinyl application. While, as you can see, The Wraptor was the Award-Winning Wrapping Tool at SEMA.
The GTM120, well what can I say? 🤨
I am the first to praise any innovative solutions to a problem, but to me these are just over-engineered, to say the least.

That last one didn’t even get the graphics central, looked like a thicker green line at the top than the bottom.

surely the people that invented them can see the limits and flaws as quickly as we can?

Spandex sell the bottom one! 😬

    Holy shitballs batman!!

1), stupid product.. unless you’re doing multiple small size signs alllllll day long, then you just buy a printer. How long before the surface of the re-usable tape is… err… not re-usable due to dust etc.? AND, why was she using a metal decorators filling knife as a squeegee….?

    2) WHat? great idea if you’re working solo and want a seamless wrap.. is a seamless wrap that in demand? so, he pulls out the arms and the first thing the do is sag an inch… add the weight of 5-6m of vinyl and boom, it sags 2″ at the ends, how the hell is that gonna help you, and how can you possibly check to see whats going on behind the film? By that, I mean… how often have you been merrily wrapping away and come across an unexpected / forgotten obstacle that isn’t where you thought it was, with this thing you have to walk 20ft around it to check what / where /how! Nope!!

    3) I stopped watching when he was levelling up a 3m x 500mm graphic, using a 30mm long bubble 🙇‍♀️, nope nope nope nope nope!!!

I’ve been saying for a long time hat people are overthinking this stuff, it’s getting ridiculous. Just look at yellotools / signgeer / etc, with the exception on a handful of tools, I can’t see the point in much of it. Tools for the sake of tools… reminds me of a saying regarding the pleasure Fishing industry… all these fancy products are mainly designed to catch anglers, not fish!

Fantastic solutions to problems that never existed. Anyway, just finished the driver’s side of today’s van & my new segway has just arrived in the nick of time to get me round to the passenger side. Cooking on gas now

We used to do a really long run on the front glass fascia of a theatre, we made something like the last one that was supported on the corner of the Boss scaffold at the right height and used to push the scaffold along 8ft, paste it down, then push it along a bit more. We had plenty of bleed as it did waver a bit but the for the designs they had it didn’t matter. So I’ve now copyrighted the scaffold attachment that goes with it! 😆

I liked how the girl in the speedpress video was using a wallpaper scraper to adhere the graphic to the press. 🤨

That could have been the best product in the world but she lost me when she started using that scraper. There’s actually a follow on video of her applying graphics to a van with a credit card.

as a newbie, i can kind of see where they are coming from with the big panel holder and girl with the frame. but the last one just appears to make things more difficult. i would just use masking tape! 🤔

The old man has been on site installing some graphics on a Transit today, with a logo over the cab.

He returned proud of punch with his new tool he fabricated last night at home to aid fitting 🤣🤣
