Hand lettering on nylon – which paint / ink to use ?
-
Any ideas ?
I’ve been asked to paint some logos on a nylon awning / tarp for an exhibition. Material is similar to tent, although a bit more robust, say like waterproof over-trousers …
In the past, I’ve used emulsion for canvas canopies, and screen ink for banners / truck curtain-sides, but not sure how to go with this. -
Personally, I would "try" screen ink." Apollo Ink" is a good choice!
if the surface is textured nylon the ink will bleed under the vinyl stencil.
if it is smooth nylon, I would think the bleed issue would be fine.
If bleed is an issue, try using very little ink at a time.
personally, I would do a small test bit in an area out of sight first.apollocolours.co.uk
