Advice on Printer engineer please?
Posted by Stuart Sutherland on July 22, 2020 at 8:41 pmHi Everyone, I have a Roland SP540i and I think I need to replace the heads, is there any independent Roland engineers available in Scotland?
Iām based on Isle of Lewis. Everything seems so expensive to when going through the bigger companies.

I only knew of two Roland reps/engineers in Scotland and both of them have passed away!
Ken McNight serviced all our Roland machines over the years.I did once have a company from Edinburgh come in and service our machines once. ide try guessing the name but not wanting to incase I get it wrong. anyway, they were crap! they were based in the Edinburgh region and serviced various printers, but I just felt like the guy was winging it! I actually told them not to come back after the second visit.
Please post back here if you find one, its good to have names and contacts posted in case it can help others searching the boards.

Thanks Robert, I’ll keep looking, hopefully I can find a company people recommend.

Try Andy Malcolm 07921 380 282 he’ll obviously have to charge you for the travel but he’s great with Roland and reasonably priced

Thank you Loic, I’ll give him a call to see what he charges and availability.

I had looked into doing that but was advised that it could damage the head if not set up correctly and you have to adjust certain bits in the “service” menu on machine, as much as I’d like to try it it could be a costly mistake.
