Advice needed on fixing a sign panel to this style of fence, please?
I have a sign to create on ACP for a football club roughly 1500mm x 900mm. Straight forward, yes. However, it needs to be hung on this fence, easily removed and replaced when needed. the fence gaps are 4mm. Any ideas?
Cable Ties?
Thanks for the reply Simon but needs to look tidier than that.
drill a hole in the four corners a minimum of 25mm in from the sides.
take a length of angle aluminium with drill holes in it too.
Push through a small nut and bolt with washed and “gradually” tighten each nut. What about these guys – signgeer.com
We use them all the time but can be a bit awkward as you need a pair of hands on both side of the fence sometimes. One person to hold the fixing in place and another to feed the bolt through
Thanks for the replies Rob & Dave
those clips from signgeer look great and good to know for future jobs. Have worked out how I’m going to do this job now, so all good. Many thanks
Using those clips does do the job but they can the bracket spilt and bolts thread the plastic threads of the clip if overtightened.
If you just want a screw-in threaded clip.
Just cut a bit of aluminium to any size suitable for you and drill threw with a tech screw and it will catch the bit of metal creating its own threads. will last much longer too. Those clips are neat enough, but not for what I would term as long term or holding signs of any real size or wind-load.
Thanks for the info Rob and taking the time to reply. I have worked out a system to meet the football clubs request to just hang it on the fence and remove it when they don’t need it. I think they want to do this to avoid paying an advertising fee to the owner of the football club so the methods above would be too fiddly for them. Good to know for the future tho
