  • Will Signlab import old Scanvec Inspire 1.5 files

Hi all, new to the forum, looking for some advice.

We are having trouble with our vinyl pc and we are looking into getting a new one with new software, however as Scanvec Inspire is now longer running I was wondering if the latest SignLab cutting software would import old Scanvec Inspire 1.5 files?

If not, is there any software that would do this?

No signlab won’t import them directly, you would have to convert them to something like eps, the only upto date program that might import them directly would be flexisign which is by the same company, scanvec.

Inspire 1.5 won’t run on a windows platform past windows millennium, windows 2000 or latter & it won’t install.

I have it running on my design computer but it runs on a virtual PC, It doesn’t get used much now but I keep it so I can convert files should an old customer come in wanting anything done.

Thanks for your help Martin, I will have a look and see about flexi and see what the boss has to say.

Out of curiosity what virtual pc software do you run?

I run vmware player which I have found to be pretty good for what I need, originally because I was running windows 7 home edition & to run microsofts own virtual machines you had to be using windows 7 pro or above which meant a lot of money for an upgrade.
I now run windows 7 pro on a couple of machines & could use microsofts own versions but read somewhere that vmware was a better option so stuck with it.
My design computers operating system is now windows 7 pro 64bit & runs 2 virtual machines, one for windows 98SE & one for windows XP pro both through vmware player. Never had a problem with the software I run on either or any of the devices on the computer.
I like the way I can open a virtual machine, do a bit of work & then drag the file over to windows 7 so I can use it straight away.

Just a quick note, if you take the time to introduce yourself in the say hello forum & tell people a little about yourself & what you do you will find you get a better response to your questions.
