Hello all, this is my first post, hope somebody can help. We run a roland vp540 with signlab 8. I keep getting a problem with the cutting function. I have attached a couple of pics but they are white so apologies is its not clear. Letters cut like a 50p coin instead of a nice curve, and straight letters cut all over the place and some dont even finish the cut path. I have been on to Cadlink several times to no avail, and I have had an engineer look at the printer which is fine. Just wondering if anybody else has come across this and can offer any advice as this drives me up the wall!
    Look forward to any replies.
    Ryan

Check the printer menu to see if the it is set to take commands from the machine menu or from the software. (Cutting prior in the menu).
I prefer to have the software (Signlab set the conditions). In plotter setup set the smoothing to medium, check the offset is correct according to the Roland manual. Also in setup, we have Roland knife selected rather than Cadlink knife.

    what age is your machine?
If relatively new, does your machine run "lots" of jobs?

Thanks for the advice people. I have checked all my settings etc. We use the smart knives from Edward Mathias (highly recommend these) so that is good. It was the buckling media comment which has 95% sorted it for me though. I have just cut several metres of 30mm high text whilst using all the media clamps I have (7) and it is nigh on perfect. Thanks for everyones advice, much appreciated.
