  • Transit van rear doors diagonal graphic Help

    Hi Everybody,

Does anyone have any advice on the following?

I have to apply a diagonal Black gloss vinyl graphic across both doors on a transit van (please see pictures).
The rear of the vehicle has its many curves and deep recessed areas when installing the graphic diagonally across both doors. It appears to be more challenging then applying the same vertically.

Could you help me on any of the following…

    1. Technique/ Method to use for installation.

    2. Preferred vinyl media to use, suppliers.

    3. Advice on how to apply to vehicle while keeping the shape of the graphic.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks Again

    Richard

    Hi richard.

1- magnet it into position, then either magnet or tape the middle, flip half back and lay. Then opposite side.

2- A good cast would do. i use avery 800 or you could use wrap but seems a bit overkill

3- i would apply upto about half inch of the step, touch onto the step and continue, then heat into the recess. This can be done with or without application tape, app tape will make it easier to lay and hold the shape better but when vinyl needs to be worked, remove app tape then continue working on it.

    Thats my 10pence worth anyway.

Use knifleless tape, apply a large piece than required and then trim. won’t distort like a cut stripe will.
