Tracking problem from hell?
After reading tips on this forum and other forums about tracking problems, the only remaning thing to do to hopefully resolving this problem is to post a question of my own.
So we had this Creation Pcut cb730 for 1 and a half years aprox. and it has worked fine untill last week.It cuts all text fine, but when its time to cut the around graphic (we mostly cut, chemica hotmark textile vinyl) it "skews" the rectangle so the lines don meet and the whole thing is off center.
Hard to explain, hopefully the attached pics will help to se the problem.
We tried: cleaning and lubricating the drive rolers, clean and lube the bladeholder, changing blade, checking the pinch rollers, totaly disassembeling the pinch rollers to check ball bearings and lubrickate so now they roll real smooth…. nothing has helped… oh and the vinyl is perfectly aligned and feeds correctly in to the machine.
Does anybody have any ideas why this is happening, or what to try next?
Or is the only remaining alternative some gas and a match?Please help us!

Actualy no, i could try with another type of vinyl instead of the t-shirt vinyl and se if it does the same… I´ll try and get back with the results :thumbsup:

Never had it this bad before.
Things I’ve discovered with garment vinyl going like that.
One pinch roller being tighter than the other.
Machine cutting to fast.
Or it’s catching on something.With some machines you can set the path it follows. Mines in my plotter settings, where you can choose I direct path, fastest route etc.. Maybe try changing it so it does the outside cut lines first?
It could also be the texture of the vinyl. Had that once before when I got a roll from someone and couldn’t get the plotter to hold it straight for any length of time.

We had the same issue with a pcut 5 years ago and in the end gave up on it. We replaced it with a graphtec and never looked back.
I don’t think your problem is with the pinch rollers.
Ours stopped gripping the back of the vinyl and cut exactly like yours is. It would track back a forwards perfectly but as soon as you cut the vinyl will start to wander. Watching the edge of the vinyl you could see it doing it as it cut.
Check the bottom roller is clean (ours had a grit surface and it collected paper fibers which caused it to slip) and try a new blade. We were buying cheap blades of ebay and even the new ones needed more force to cut than the bottom rollers cope with.
A better quality blade lets you cut with the minimum force needed to cut the material and so less slipping. http://www.edwardmathias.com/ sell great blades I think it was one of their roland blades that gave our pcut a few more months life.
Also we found slower was better.The end of our machine was the grit rollers became loose from the stepper motor. When I tightened it i could never get the roller exactly in the center again causing the slipping to become even worse.
Save up for a better machine. It really is worth it. -

A new Graphtec ce6000-60 haha been trying it out now the last 2 days, and i got to say Philip, you were 100% right!
It works like a dream! The differance is like night and day… sure we are a bit "down" on the money, but hopefully this new piace of equipment will pay it self, soon… dont think we will be regreting the investment! :thumbsup:
