Is there anything that you can’t live without in this software that isn’t immediately apparent?
    share the knowledge.

Mine is the fact you can use rudimentary mathematical functions within the number boxes. so you can do like * + – / etc (Which is fantastic for layout), I’ve now tried this in a lot of other software and surprised that it isn’t included. Well played signlab!

I didn’t know that but a lot of CAD software does so maybe it’s a crossover from cad software.

Yeah, I’m been using some autodesk products, and going back to signlab was a step back for me. I must admit I giggled maniacally when I first found it out. I do find signlab does have it’s little quirks.

for example the Alt-k tools (alignment) are pretty cool once you get passed the sometimes backward "there may not be enough room to equally space" thing. (in that you need an object to act as the space behind what you’re spacing).

Also the weld tool (aka booleans) is a bit tricky what with to do a subtraction operation (ie remove a shape from a larger one) in that you need to make the shape you’re subtracting the same colour as the background.

~I should probably say now that I’m using an older version of signlab, so … I apologise for any inconsistancies.

i love signlab, early versions that is up to version 5 rev12.
used it for many many years now and wouldn’t be without it.
that said, we only use it for cut vinyl. have never needed to move to printing with it as our printers have their own RIP and photoshop for all editing etc

anyway, in my opinion Signlab is by far the best software when it comes to vinyl graphics. cant comment on its upgrades to printing sorry.
