    Hi George

I would first guess at cleaning the encoder strip.
Simple to do, just follow the manual instructions for cleaning that carefully. Then try printing again.
If the fault improves a bit, try cleaning again.

    alternatively,
Are you having the same problem printing other files?
If not, try saving the file again and sending a fresh version of it.

Also, sounds daft, but the old… Reboot the machine from scratch. Power off, PC off, bring in a fresh file and try printing.

Anything is worth a shot before the dreaded technician call out.

i would also think the encoder strip or change the file to a different job and see if the same happens.

Do you definitely need a New Encoder strip, George?
Could it not just be dirty, a smear or whatever, on the strip?

If you do need a new one, I would try Jamie, suggestions.

Possibly an electrical issue, which may mean a new head, or one of the boards.

I’m not familiar with the machine, but does look like a communication error – check trailing cables & ribbon cables to head carriage for damage.
