Signlab, creating a Dotted line. Help please?
Good morning people. I was wondering if anybody could tell me if it is possible to create a dotted/dashed line around an object in signlab 8. Ive only ever done it in a straight line by using the array function but wondered if there is a function hiding somewhere which allows to fit to a path? Thought id ask here first before I start having a stress! Thanks in advance. Ryan

Not sure I understand. Is it a vector or bitmap? -
Basically its a map of a large industrial estate and its to show the road markings. Bit stuck on this one!

Not sure if you have it in Signlab but in Flexisign you can go into the stroke editor and select broken line and then thicken it up. Or draw the path and then select "Fit text to path" and then type a series of dashes.

OK, I don’t know how most would do it, but personally, as I know no other way:
Make a small copy of your map.
Select ‘Free Edit’ from the editing tools (pencil)
Left-click and hold down the mouse whilst tracing your ‘route’ on the map
Choose the colour required
Enlarge map (include traced line/s)

I’ve never come across an ability in Signlab to alter the line style from straight, dots, dashes etc.
Would be handy – have looked but never seen the function.

can`t you make a line of dashes using the hyphen key then fit text to graphic? or aline text option…

I had imagined he wanted to trace a roadway, to show a route 😥 …..
In that case, still not sure what is being asked.

In Signlab 8, there is no option to easily do this. In signlab 9 there is an additional option in the line Style tools to allow this.
