This question is really for the old man, I was sick of hearing him this afternoon, and like most men he won`t ask LOL

Hes printing onto clear, in mirror. With the intention of flooding white vinyl, then putting back into the machine to contour cut, using the reg marks.

    and here’s the problem.

He wants to print approx 50 stickers, which allows him to flood using a 610 wide vinyl, but he wants to be able to print a long run at 1 press of the button. Then after printing slice off a batch of 50 and flood, So every batch of 50 needs to have the 4 reg marks on. ( i hope you`re all with me LOL)

He`s said he has done this before but can`t figure it out again. When he puts in how many copies he wants, the reg marks are at the front of the batch and at the very end of the run, not after every 50 units. Which means he can`t slice off 50, flood and then go on to contour cut them……

So, today, hes been doing 1 run, the pressing print again, and so on….

    we have Signlab 9

Help before I murder him LOL.

I hope you understand all that…. I need a wine.

it could be done on sl8, using an array set of reg marks, but cadlink did not include this option in sl9, it was a very good feature, not just for flood coating, but because multiple reg marks keeps the registration more acurate, dont really know why they dropped the feature, I use rasterlink and illustrator know to achieve the same effect, but it was far simpler in signlab 8 🙁

    thanks for your reply Peter.

He says he has already do it once before, but can`t remember how it was done.

He`s at it again today, so I`ll keep checking in to see if anyone else has any ideas, or I will get him to call cadlink.

Denise I just had a play around and the only way i can find to do this is to make the set of 50 decals in signlab, then add the reg marks before sending to the production manager, them make copies, setting up the number ans spacing. it works in the preview, I have not tried to print and cut though, alsop you need to turn off the reg marks in the production manager, otherwise you will have 2 sets of marks
    Hope this helps

sorry denise just edited. it only works for print jobs only, as soon as a contour cut is added the reg marks no longer appear in the vpm.

if you speak to cadlink, let me know how you get on, I would like to have this feature back!
