  • SignLab 9 issues, Please Help? Unable to send via web/e-mail

Posted by Sallie Unruh on August 22, 2014 at 5:02 pm

I have been able to send jobs from Signlab9 via "Web / Send image by email" without issue. But cannot now … pop ups say: "(*v*) couldn’t spawn mailer program" and the second pop up "unable to launch email". Also I have been saving some jobs as jpg so that I can email them but now there is sort of shadow box around every job and sometimes a big "X" across the job when I view it as not filled. Email recipient cannot see them or use to cut. Any help out there.
    Thanks

    Sallie,

I think you may have to wait a while for a reply as this weekend is a public holiday in the UK. We do have a SignLab expert on here occasionally but I know he definately won’t be around until Tuesday.

May I suggest that you introduce yourself first, in the ‘Hello’ section of the forum, with a little piece about where you are and what you do.

Hi Sallie, The error means that Signlab cannot open the program that sends and receives your mail. This could be Outlook, Outlook Express or another program for example.
When you export a job as a JPG file it is like sending a photograph of the job it is made up of millions of dots, if the recipient needs to cut the job then you need to send it in Vector format where the shapes are kept as shapes PDF and EPS are common ones to use for this.

If you are sending proofs then the JPG is the best format as the recipient cannot then tout around your design for someone else to easily produce.
