When my Mimaki/Signlab combo was installed it was set up to print on the JV3, I then put the media in the CG cutter and do a reg mark detection. As soon as I hit cut, it would cut no problem. I have just reinstalled Signlab due to a PC problem and everything is fine except when I hit cut, it does ANOTHER reg mark detection and then starts to cut. Any ideas how I can get rid of that 2nd detection sequence. Everything works, its just a pain in the a**e. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Steve, Signlab needs to do that second detection of marks, as it uses this to calculate whether the cut needs to be increased or decreased in size to compensate for stretching during print. You can however set the CG to detect only the first mark, (you will need a cleverer man than I to tell you how to do that), this will mean that when you put material in, it will find only the first mark, then when you send the cut it will then search for all four marks. It might save you some time.

Thanks for the reply Ray. It just seems odd that it only done it once before and it worked OK but now it does it twice. Never mind, I’ll live with it!

Sounds to me like you have automatic detection enabled on the cutter itself.
Signlab send a command to the cutter to detect the marks when its a regmark job.
You could disable automatic detection on the cutter. That way it will only look when a cut job with reg marks is sent
