Rated/reccomended suppliers

I was thinking the other day about how often people request information on suppliers and wondered if it would be feasable to have a reccomended suppliers list either on the main board or in the members area.
you could have say a section on banners, where there could be a list of suppliers and everyone would give the supplier they use a rating out of say 5, you could then look down the list and see the supplier/s that most other signmakers reccomend or ones that might mess you about with poor service/delivery etc..
I know there are directories and list of suppliers already but none give you an idea of how good the service or quality of the product is.
Any thoughts on this?

i agree lorraine. this would be good!
i think in the members area though. ill have a think on it and see what i can come up with.. 😉i was considering opening a classifieds forum for suppliers to post like we do in buy-sell-swap. not sure yet though..

Lorraine made an excellent suggestion, and I’ve thought of a way to implement it.
If you do put together a suppliers list, why not put up a poll next to it, (ie ‘How do you rate this supplier? Average-Good-Excellent etc) so that we can guage how popular the company is?
Perhaps also a comments section that shows exactly who says what about who, with no anonymous comments?

This is “sort of” already in place mate.. The problem customer’s etc section caters for this.I did think about the polls idea. But ill wait and see..
Again though. This would have to be in a limited access forum. Maybe the UKSG one.
