    Hi fellow cadeteers.
I’m looking for some advise please.
My cadet plus is having a benny which has been getting progressively worse lately.
I was having a problem with black ink back feeding up the blue ink line.
Someone recommended levelling off the inks in the reservoir which did cure the problem. But now the red was finding its way into the yellow, although this time the dampers were staying the correct colour.
I can draw the inks through with a syringe and it will appear to print ok, but within a matter of minutes after printing a test print it shows red in the yellow and blue again in the black.

    Any suggestions would be great.
I’ve ordered 4x new dampers and capping stations to fit and I stripped the piping the other day under the capping stations right through the pump and cleaned them so they were spotless.
Is there a non-return valve in the dampers?
    HELP!!! Please 🙂 cheers Gary

Hi Gary. Wait until you’ve fitted your new caps and see if it’s doing it.

Personally I would replace the pump for a new genuine one too. It may have a bit more life in it and it may not be the main problem but with a new pump and cap in place, it will definitely improve the life of you heads, which ARE expensive.

    Hi Stafford.
Thanks for the reply. It seems to be fine now.
I’ve just put a new printhead in the black and blue slot too.
    All is well again.
Do you know if there is a procedure after printing to stop the heads blocking up?
I’m using an oem black ink but the following day there were a load of misses on the test print???
I’m sitting the head on cleaning fluid when I’ve done for the day, but its a bit of a pain??
    Answers on a postcard 😉
    Cheers Gary

They shouldn’t really be blocking up while it’s idle. I could only think that the cap or alignment could be at fault??
