    Morning

I can honestly say that I’ve never really noticed this in the past neither have I looked closely at my prints, I don’t even print that often compared to a lot of you but I’m printing more and more now and I would like to get this sorted.

When I put my media into my machine, I do a feed test and adjust it to the correct setting but it seems like the print gets half way through a job and the settings change, I stop the print and do another feed test and it’s completely out from my setting I set at the start.

The first setting could be +0.20 and by the end it could be something like -0.40

    What can cause this?

The reason I notice is that I am getting lines in my prints what looks like every 5mm on 720 X 720dpi.

I’m also getting light patches what seem like about 2cm thick see image?

Nozzle test print appears to be ok.

Here’s images of the print, the first one shows the 2cm lighter strip.

if the feed rate requires changing during the print then bed temp to hot for that material and or to much tension for the rollers to pull the material consistently equal each pass
changing material thickness normally requires a feed adjustment but but should be consistent for that material

looking at the pics i think there are missing jets and fluff on head, + as you say feed incorrect. lighter shade areas could be static or material contamination. or just poor material try another brand

Thanks Chris, I’ll check the head again but that was ok just before the print, the material is Vion 5100 so i’ll also the supplier about it

can’t remember your machine but think a newer roland
for that material i would try
    feed 0
generic vinyl 2 standard quality or high quality, sign and display
but slow the head speed down to 700 temp 38
make sure there is slack material behind so not pulling the roll for this test

    show a nossel test please
