Plain Frosting. App tape or not?
Hi guys, some advive please.
I have 8 exterior glass privacy panes to frost on the verandah of a pub.
The biggest pane is 1400 x 1600
Frost is arlon silver etch, the one on the clear backing paper.
It is winter here in the South Island, rarely going above 8*Does anybody ever do this job alone without app tape or is it just foolish to even try?

I do know the Arlon Silver Etch.
Does is stretch or scratch? If yes, I will use application tape.
I haven’t used application tape for plain frost so far. Ever for the sparkly, notoriously expensive 3M frost with crystals.

Hi simon. Im with pane. Ive never used app tape on solid frosted and if temp is a worry for you then app tape is the last thing you want.

Sorry when I say Plain I mean it is not cut out patterns, just large sheets. The frost itself is a bit sparkly, and quite easy to tear when pulling it off the backing paper.

If it rips easy then application tape it. Once it’s on soak the application tape. Go over it quick with squeegee and move to the next one. Then come back and take the tape off. It will of lost all its grab and help with cold temps.

Always do solid frost without application tape.
If you are wet applying, you will find it makes your job 10 times harderYou might be better with a pair of hands to help you, as 1400 wide is difficult to handle alone :thumbsup:

I applied this today with no help and no app tape. It went on without any issues at all.
