  • Placing text inside a shape help

    Hi everyone.

I’m sure I have seen this somewhere but lost it.

I’m trying to place text inside a number.

It’s for a school leavers type hoodie rear design.

The main logo is the year "14" and I have to fit all the names of the people going on the trip into it, there will be at least 80+ names.

    Help……… 😀

Could well be, just sitting outside getting some fresh air, hoping the sun will come out soon, will try it later.

If you have your names in a Word document copy them to your clipboard.

In Draw put your number on screen and convert to curves. Depending on how you want the names to flow you may want to break the curve apart.

Click text tool and place cursor inside first number and move to edge until cursor changes shape – click. You will see paragraph text dotted lines inside shape.

Start typing or paste text, when you get to the end the dotted line turns red to indicate overflow and an arrow appears in the bottom central bounding node.

Click on arrow, cursor changes shape, move cursor to second number/curve.

Cursor changes to black arrow when approaching shape outline, click and overflow text will populate second number.

Repeat until all numbers are populated, you can treat this text as any paragraph text and change font, size etc.
