I am using X13 and I am desperately trying to join up nodes but the button I need wont light up to use, so how do I connect two nodes together? I have highlighted the two sections to be joined, one comes up in red and the other in blue but I can’t for the life of me work out how to join them. I normally convert this into another program to do but in this instant it wont export the lines I need to join. 😥

    😕

Not used X3 for a while but I don’t think much is different in X6. You probably can’t use the join nodes button because too many nodes are selected, you could join a pair at a time but time consuming. Do a search for macros because I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a macro that will do what you want. The node joining issue is normally when a dxf or file from an AutoCad style programme is imported.

as alan says the nodes are a bit of a mess not the first time i have re drawn a section.
remove as many nodes as posible or redraw using the snap command posibly quicker

as a point you say it wont export its not on a different layer

    Mike – try this:

Select both parts with the Pick tool
Combine the two shapes (Ctrl + L)
Now using the shape tool select the two nodes you want to join
Click the Join Two Nodes button.

    Works for me…

Niel, you are a star! Thank you very much.
This one is a non profit job for a friend so didn’t want to go messing with deleting loads of nodes etc or spending to much time on it.

Thanks for your replies guys. :thanks2: :uksbrules:

For X5 and X6 users also see the join curves docker which will do this to multiple selected nodes, I’m not sure if this was in X3. It is found under ‘windows – dockers’
