quote Dave Rowland:an electric bus… i like it
Considering the starting point, a job well done (hope the vinyl stays put though!)
in England, that is called a trolley bus, but I think most were scrapped in the sixties

No bad for your first attempt, but it is a little rough around the edges, i know you said you use edge sealer but still I have seen better first attempts. Keep at it and I’m sure you will get the knack.

Yes, I’ve seen better attempts too. But I must consider rough edges weren’t all my fault…in fact every edge there was only rust and dirt, and the vinyls were the only thing that kept the trolley from falling apart. Anyway it is already out of service…and only ran with the graphics for only 6 months.

hi there… good first attempt mate, well done and thank you for taking the time to post your work.
i understand from what you have said that this is 4 months after the installation so wear and tear has already kicked in. the fact you had to apply to a rusty bus means you are beat even before you start. so edge sealing etc will not have any effect in prolonging the adhesion.
i can see where it is coming away around edges etc, if around windows etc are rusty which i am guessing is the areas then this was bound to happen.anyway, fitting to an old rusty bus in Bulgaria and it being your very first try. you have done well… just make sure you make a point in telling your customer not matter what vinyl you use, adhesion cannot be guaranteed if the bus is rusty.

Ahh i see o thought it was maybe just the top part was rusty. Yes you are right about the rust its a right pain.
I do a few old vans which people use to stick at the roadside and when there’s rust its a bug*er to work with as the paint just comes straight off.
I generally get away with it as i just screw hording panels to the van (makes life so much easier) But since you couldn’t do that its not a bad job
What sort of price did you get for doing it.

Well done mate,
when I saw James 1st comment I thought is was a bit harsh, but I see he’s explained that better the second post 🙂
The thought ‘you can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear’ explains this job I guess. I always tell clients that too.
You did well considering the job you had to work with. I’m guessing this is common in that part of the world?
Keep showing us your work mate, I’m very interested in your progress.
Take care
