looks good Jason, do you have to do anything special on jet ski’s ?? like varnish etc. or is the vinyl stable enough with out ??

Hey Lynn,
I laminate them. I treat it like a normal car wrap. They hold up rather well.
-
Is that a wrap Jason? or stickers. Done a few Jetskis in my day..

Hey Shane,
All stickers print and cut. The ski is painted black.
You would do a few skis up in Queensland 🙂
I’ve started doing sticker kits for this ski and a few others as a side thing more to fund my hobby.

Yeah mate, we used to do the stuff for Jetski World up here. Gave it away a few years ago. There was a price war on ski’s a few years ago, and we got screwed for price at the time. It was cheaper to walk away than try and keep the business.
The boating industry up here is in the downward spiral again now, so it backs to the same as it was before.
Heaps of boat shops have closed. Used to be 1 whole section of the Gold Coast Highway that was nothing but boat yards, now it is almost all empty yards.
You’ll do better doing your kits up here than making money fitting one offs.
The only guys making money are the airbrush guys here. That is the latest ‘fad’ up here anyway.

Yeh not really interested in fitting skis. We’ve got out business setup. I’m into jet ski’s so this is a bit of a side thing. I won’t mind offering kits but I won’t get into doing custom on offs in any great hurry.

I have done a lot of jetskis, all stands up, over here in the uk. I am heavily involved in the scene, (used to be national pro freestyle champion) so i started off doing them for fun, then everyone wanted them doing and they sort of became a bit of a pain to be honest. So i stopped doing them, apart from my own and my mates. That design Jason, I not sure if you know, but you should be careful as it is what looks like a replica of an exotic signs kit. They do a LOT of jetskis, especially race teams etc etc and are very well known for their graphics. I was asked to do that exact same design on a kawasaki 800 but turned it down as I didnt want to get in trouble for copying their design etc. Not criticising, just wasnt sure if you knew.
I like it though, looks good. Shame you so far away, id let you wrap my ski, I have two Im building at the moment to go riding in the surf. -
Hey Matt,
It’s a hydro scape. Not sure of the design the guy already had it laid out on a photo of his ski I’ll ask him next time I see him. I just recreated it and added my own gradient fills, drop shadows etc to give it more depth. He originally just wanted cut vinyl before I talked him into the print and cut.
I didn’t see any copyright notices or anything that indicated someone had designed it and given him a proof.
I don’t ride stand ups only my GP1200R so will be doing a kit for that soon 🙂
Cheers
