• Ink replacing

Posted by Jean Oakley on June 5, 2012 at 10:53 am

Hi all i have a VP300 roland printer, half way through a print run the cyan ran out. In the past i pull out the old catridge and replace with new and it continues to print. Today it just continues to beep and tell me the cartridge needs replacing. I have looked at new cartridge and it all appears good i had to stop print turn printer and versa works off and it is still beeping saying no ink. Anyone any ideas before i start crying? thanks jen

When the cartridge goes empty a little tab appears in the side of the cartridge that triggers a switch inside the printer. Sounds to me like this switch is stuck in the triggered position? Take the full cartridge back out and feel inside the slot to see if the switch is sticking – if not sure what to look for compare the slot with another cartridge slot thats working normally

try switching cartridges around momentarily – e.g black – cyan to see if the black ink is showing empty when the cyan cartridge is inserted. This will allow you to identify if the cartridge or machine is at fault

tried to but cartridges wouldn’t go in and i didn’t want to force them. i now have two ink cartridges flashing me in the printer menu and unable to reset. think i might have to turn off and on again. Also on versa works the two cartridges i removed have empty sign on them?

Is the new Cyan cartridge a different make to the others?

Try your flush cartridges if you still have them, for testing purposes.

lol I’m not sure I know what I mean either, was a bit tipsy when typed 😛

But I think I meant to chuck one in to see if it registers as a full cartridge to see if its the printer or the cartridges themselves, but I’m not entirely sure how the printer sees the cleaning cartridges as I never used ’em(except for gutting them for cleaning fluid)

I took the full cartridge to another sign company and when fitted to their roland it also said empty. Ordered new ink and fitted all working fine so basically it was a faulty ink cartridge, thank you to all who answered my plea for help. hope this helps someone in the future jean
