    Rofl

Wish I had photo of a very similar one:

7 1/2 ton box lorry, client not willing to pay us to remove graphic like you from the box part – so did it themselves… with a wallpaper stripper! Removed the paint in sections from the aluminum skin.

Ended up having to pay more for the whole sides to be flood coated to cover the damage!

I had a call the other week.

“How much to remove the DPD branding from my van? I’ve removed one half, but I’m too busy to do the other”

I explained we charged per hour, what the hourly rate was, and that it takes as long as it takes as we don’t know how it will remove.

    “That’s a bit expensive don’t you think?”

“Well no. Wages for the guy removing it, rent, electricity for the machines, the chemicals, it’s quite reasonable”

    “I think it sound expensive”

“Well you’ve done one side, you could save yourself a few quid and finish the rest of it”

when they weigh up their niggles overpricing, getting it properly done. as you say, chemicals, travel, man-hours, tools, etc it’s very cheap! you also run the risk of the customer holding you’re responsible for any so-called damage by the removal.
For instance, how many of us are then blamed for the ghosting of the graphics left after the vinyl has been removed? Nerd then its t-cut and more just to try and get paid!!

    Completely agree Rob and David.

We charge by the hour too. It saves a whole lot of heartache. We only ever give a fixed price if we fitted the graphics and know the media used, we have a few customers with lease cars and it’s return business so it’s worth a bit of a gamble if it goes on a bit longer than we guessed.

This was clearly done with a blade scraper. the scores and gouges into the metal were sharp and deep. no attempt had been made to remove the glue. how they could think this is saving them money is beyond me!

That is a disgrace, why would they even think for a minute that is saving them money? Confounded
