  • Holiday Break – Flushing ink out of Printer

With the holiday break coming up shortly I will be having to flush all the ink out from my printer to allow it to sit unused for over a week.

I have 4 flushing carts that are now almost empty – I’m not convinced they still contain enough flushing fluid to clear the ink from the system.

Given that flushing cartridges are £45 ea. it’s going to cost £180 to do this so I wondered if there were any other options instead?

Can the old cartridges be topped up with flushing fluid or can I just leave the heads soaking in flushing fluid the whole time I am away?

    Any other suggestions?

I’m liking your idea. Not only do I save 180 spondulics, I also save on the cost of the Holiday…

Sorted. Buying 4 empty refillable carts and a bottle of flushing fluid instead. Seemed a bit pointless buying 4 full flushing carts when the last set lasted me 10 years..

I was going to suggest the same thing. Either that or just leave the heads on soak and switch it off at the wall.
