It’s a capping station issue have you tried turning the printer off from the main and back on it could just be out of sequence.
If this does not work try moving the capping station manually read in your manual how to do this if not sure.
Hope this helps

yes have tried switching it on and off with no joy, it moves side to side but only a few mill.
i have a technician coming out Wednesday but i cant really afford to wait this long to get it up and running.
also another problem i have come across is the versaworks software supplied with it does not recognise the printer, its a uniform cadet sp1400c, is this software not compatible with the printer?

use the bit of squashed pipe that comes with the printer and wind the capping station down slightly then switch back on the capping station is stuck to the heads

thanks Kevin will try that, and keep you updated.
the person who i bought it off has said it can be bypassed, now this says to me that the fault was known to them and they have just been bypassing it not fixing it…

With versaworks have you set the printers ip address in versaworks?
-
yes i have put in the correct IP address thats on the front of the printer, cant recall what it said exactly but it was something about not recognising the printer, will be going back to my office shortly so will try again and post exactly what it says

that worked Kevin, managed to free them up and its now running,
the thing is now the inks they had been using are activasol inks and i know they are not much good for the heads, so weds im having it all flushed out and will be using eco-sol inks
cheers for your help guys! 🙂
