    Hi all.

As some of you know, I run a country pub, and we are in the process of upgrading the ladies lavs. The whole building is really old, so not the greatest surfaces etc to make look good without spending a fortune.
My idea is to do a kind of indoor wall ‘wrap’ around all 4 walls to 915mm high, cladding the walls with substrate and laminated print, plus floor graphic.

The space is narrow, and I am not sure that this idea would work at all, does anyone have any experience of this type of graphic in a small space? I dont want to freak people out, but thought it might be fun to have a river or beach/sea scene, as we live in the Norfolk Broads, and near the coast. The majority of our seasonal customers are on boating holidays.

I dont know the process for creating something like this, I guess starting with a high quality photo, but where from there?

Sorry for waffling, any advice appreciated,

    Thanks
    Lorraine

Not used the wall type media at all Lorraine so can’t comment on that but the idea is sound & if you use a scene that has light colours like a light blue type sky then that will make the room look bigger than it is.

Someone with a bit of imagination and good photoshop skills I would say Lorraine.

You could have a graphic on the floor of looking down from the river bank into the water…….possibly 😕

I say make the floor look like they are going to fall into something
(there used to be a link or a site that had floor treatments like this)

(this isn’t the right one though)
    :lol1:
May not be worth it for insurance purposes, though.

Was just thinking the same sort of thing, Jill. Might be a bit of a challenge for somebody with a few too many… 😉

I also had thought of a river scene, but thought it may be a bit freaky to some…
Maybe a sandy beach, with sea in front.
Harry, I don’t think I could afford a professional, I’ll have to make do with myself producing 😕
About to look at that link Jill.

Cheers everyone, still wondering how to get the process done, although I think I have an idea.. (-)

This is really sad but that’s just me 😳

I was (still may) do the hallway in my flat like a scene from one of the fisheries I go to.
Took pictures of the pond all the way round & then just resized it & manipulated it to fit. The carpet in the hallway is blue so didn’t have to do floor graphics as you will. Although I didn’t go ahead & get it printed I am pretty sure from what I have on screen that it would look OK even if it’s not everyones cup of tea :lol1: :lol1:

    Hi Lorraine,
    Wallpaper:-
I’ve never used it my self but you can get "Blank Wallpaper" for the printers. You could then have any scene or graphic printed on the relevant strips on wall paper and when hung would show a full scene (if your wall is good enough).

    Floor Graphics:-
As far as Floor Graphics go what about something like this with your own graphic or idea of course.

This floor graphic is completely flat (not 3D) and anti slip. It only looks 3D from a certain angle but in a corridor it would be very controllable.

careful with the floor, we have just moved stuff about in the main area where customers would come and left a area in the middle that is crying out for a floor graphic.
first thought was a hole then rethink as it would startle people to much.

as for the walls draw the panels sizes expand you pic over them, print one one out quick on paper see if you like.
could have some fun on the doors ??

plan or pics (perhaps not) sizes lets get some ideas going

Here is a floor graphic of a hole. Again it works best from a pre-defined position but in a corridor your customers can not go far enough off line (left or right) unless they turn around and look at it from the other direction.

I-Sub Digital Ltd do a material that appears to move as you walk on it. Seen one with fish on it that disperse as you walk on the graphic and leaves a ripple after you take your foot of it. Could give you a few ideas.

Well, I was thinking of one loo at the moment, so a small space, just want to add some ‘interest’ really, as the toilets are old, short of stripping off all the old paint and plaster and starting again, I want to clad the lower walls, and may as well do something a bit unusual whilst I am at it.
The attached image is a local scene, and I wondered if it might work, but I really don’t know if it will.

The toilet will be at the lower end so ladies feet will be on the water, so to speak. I have put the required panel sizes on the other file, don’t know if this is the way to lay them, so help needed with this if you will.
This is a new concept for our area, as far as I am aware, not sure that I shouldn’t just play safe, and put some tiles up!

Thanks for all the replies so far.

    Lorraine

Edited to add, of course I will purchase a full size photo when the time comes.

    Lol Harry, :lol1:

I’ll put up an eps or ai tomorrow Chris. Printer is 760, will be printing onto vinyl, and applying to PVC, will have to tile it I guess, not done that before, so will be learning new processes on this job, lucky it’s my business thats the guinea pig!
