Hello, I’m another new member and this is my first post.
Must say I’ve been quite impressed by the wide and varied content on this site and the topics discussed and look forward to contributing my tuppence worth as and when I can.
Although our company has been up and running for over 12 years, I’m quite new at the helm and come from a shopfitting / joinery background, in which I was doing a lot of design work as well as fitting and programming CNC routers. My partner in crime also comes from a design and programming background but with more emphasis on engineering.
We are quite busy at the moment and have broadened our horizons from fascia signs and could really do with some advice / help with vehicle wrapping of which we have no real experience but have a lot of requests coming in from some regular clients that we don’t want to knock back. I’ve noticed a few threads about people looking for courses on this subject and would be keen on this myself.
I’d love to be able to access the demo on wrapping, as well as many other subjects on the site. Do I have to sign up to one of the memberships for this? If so which one?
Lastly I’d like to wish everyone a prosperous and happy new year.

There’s a Demo wrapping going on somewhere soon, friday or saturday,

that’s all I can say so far, it’s by the people who supply VWS, or… whatever those three letters are, I’m getting more info tommorow. I’ll post any findings on here. unless someone already knows.

Welcome to the boards, I’ve found them invaluable, soaking up knowledge like a sponge, I’m sure you’ll fit in.

nice work with the avatar too, I’ve heard scary things that happen to people who don’t post up their pic. 🙂

welcome aboard mate… thanks for the hello and thanks again for the avatar picture. 😀
wrapping is a long winded topic, lots to learn and take in. if you have any questions regarding it or other aspects of vinyl or whatever, just start a post on each one, you will see a steady flow of replies over the next few days.

    regarding access to demos etc.
to just see the demos as they are now you could take silver access membership, but to be honest, gold access for life has got to be the best value for money at the moment.

& know, im not just saying that coz im biased 😉 :lol1:

    Welcome aboard!
    I’ve GOT to stop speed-reading.
I did a double take with “shopfitting”
I thought you wrote SHOPLIFTING! 😮
(You know, the old 5-finger discount)
My Alzheimer’s is acting up today.

I’m waiting to see a van go by that a dyslexic signwriter has done with
‘Acme shoplifters’, I for some reason always see the same thing Jill.
Do you think it’s some sort of Freudian slip type of thing, or do we both require extra medication???

    Freudian, maybe….
by any chance did you also have a squelched, staunchly Catholic childhood?
That’s what I blame my little idiosyncracies on! :lol1:
Either that, or because I always felt different from the other non-artistic kids.
Anyhoo, it would be very funny to see a van like that.
At a Letterhead Meet, I once painted something VERY bad on the van of a minister,
who had hounded everyone around for 2 days for FREE lettering….
luckily it did wipe off, but not before someone got it on film!
    Love….Jill 😉
(He was a snake-oil salesman, not a real minister)

Nice to see there are people from all over the globe on here DSI. I’m lucky enough to have a dual nationality having spent many years in the NT working on mines from the Tanami thru to Groote Eyelandt.

Real name is Paul, Carrie, and we are based in Danbury, Essex.

So what did you write on the van, spill the beans, Jillbean. :lol1:

    Hmmmm….If memory serves,
it was “666” and also the non-dyslexic spelling of “Yuck Fou” 😮
(in a killer script, of course)
I am very very very naughty and will surely fry in a lake of fire.
Then we parked the van, locked it, and didn’t give him back his keys
until he made a donation to the local library, as did all the others
who got vehicles pinstriped at the meet.
    Love….Jill
