Hello all! Can you help a woman in need!?!
Thought i’d pop in and say hi!
the guy i work with Danny is always saying what a helpful bunch of people you all are so i was hoping i could pick your brains…..
the pair of us have only been in business for 7 weeks, but to see the state of his work area you’d think he’d been nesting in there for months, its a tip! Can anyone tell me where i could buy some sort of storage system for all his rolls of vinyl? i’d build some sort of rack for them but i’ve already built him a bench, and i dont think i’ve the energy to build anything else over the xmas period!
any help would be greatly appreciated because i cant take much more of his mess!!!! 👿 i’m a woman on the edge! (:) -

I haven’t come across any vinyl storage racks premade, although someone on here may well have come across some. Most of us have built our own in some fashion, pretty easy to do, there’s a thread started about 12 months ago on building them. If you can’t buy them premade, thats your best bet 😀
Men aren’t messy anyway, we just have our own way of ordering things. What looks a tip to the outside world is many many subtle layers of both useful and one day it’ll be useful stuff. It really does take years to perfect 😀

I don’t know of any ready made racks, but a fairly standard shelving system would do. Making a rack is very simple and needn’t take too long. Just cut some slots in a strip of 1/2″ plywood at a 45 degree angle and fix to wall, spaced just bigger than the size of vinyl you want to hang on them. Thread some dowel or broom handles through the vinyl roll and slot it into the grooves each end. Does that make any sense?
There was a demo of this in the tips section but you have to be a full member to view.

Welcome to the boards!! Stephen is soooooooo messy its unbelievable … I tidy up, organise, file, re-arrange clean …… give it an hour and it looks like a mad ferret with a piranha on its tail has bombed its way through there 🙄 :lol1:
We are going to be making our own vinyl racks over the Xmas break from the demo that Rob did, that way we can make them specifically to suit us and the area they are to fit in.

hi all i like many of us needed some racks
found the demo by rob
and made them from that just tweeked the sizes to suit
couldnt believe how cheap they were to build
