    Hi all,

We are looking for advice as to a good quality A3 inkjet printer for preparing exposure transparencies. Any thoughts as to i) what to buy and just as importantly ii) what to avoid would be gratefully accepted!

    Thanks!

i would say most printers will do it. but i would set out another way.
speak to the suppliers of the film and ask what printers there customers are using, with there film. as with most ink jets etc. its the printed surface is more important than the printer.

I had an HP B9180 , excellent quality but hideously expensive on the ink.
I ended up subbing it out and it worked out much cheaper for me.

    Hi

We have been using an epsom stylus photo 2100 for about 3 years now and it produces perfect film transparencies A4 / A3 and you can print from a roll

    Thanks all for comments.

Whilst I was busy tapping away on here a colleague of mine came across a CANON LP17 which looks the business so we have plumped for that.

Thanks anyway and I’ll let you all know how it works for us.

sorry to slightly change to subject of this post………….but I was wondering who supplies the film that you use in the inkjet printers to make positives

at the moment we get by using an OHP film in A4 sheet size only, it’s ok but I know there’s better out there, just haven’t managed to find the supplier

I know this is an old thread, but for what it’s worth, we have an old Epson 3000 – and like it for that job. The black is a pigment ink, and the size goes up to A2 – good for positives for tea-towel printing designs.
