    HI All

It’s been a while since I had something decent to post, I have been wanting to do a vehicle using digi print (wrap) and cut graphics for so long and finally one of my customers upgraded their van and wanted something done on it so this is what we ended up with, they sent me the basic layout and I added in the orange and tweaked the layout a bit.

    Hope you like it.

    cheers

    Warren

    Hi Warren
I like the design very eye catching, just 2 points I would have moved the black line of text with FOOD in just a tad more to the right in the top picture to avoid the door gap and the text on the rear doors looks a little on the large side, no one else would ever no so its not a worry.
How did you find fitting the print ??
    Nice work mate

    Well done Warren, looks great.

Just one crit, I think you could have reduced the size of most of the text, it looks a little like it’s all trying to bust out of the panels.

Also the strapline on the rear could be smaller so as not to go from door edge to door edge.

But as Richard says the layman won’t see it.

Again, great job and it does look very eyecatching, I like the digi print alot.

    Thanks Guys

I never got to see the van before I did it and worked directly from a vehicle outline template and it all fitted in much nicer and no where near the edges as it turned out, also was missing some of the badges on the template and also the number plate was on the other side so I had to change a few things to get it all done. I couldn’t believe how far out the vehicle outline actually was 😕

The print was fine to apply, I’m loving this printed wrap material and really enjoy fitting it, the back was tricky but no problem really.

    cheers

Warren I do fit a lot of these vans and the monvano, the rears can be a paint to line up due to drop to the centre on rear panels, the monvano is a real pain. What material was the print on?
    Was it laminated ?
if so did you fit with no app tape ?
    all the questions !!

Print was on Arlon Xscape and laminated, applied without application paper (not sure if you can apply wrap vinyl with app tape 😕 )

I’ve also recently done my own van with a variety of vinyls

    Green – Hexpress
    White – Oracal Rapid Air
    Rear – Grafiwrap (laminated)
    Cut graphics – Oracal 551

All done without app tape (except cut graphics of course)

    cheers

Nice work mate, looks very good, wont miss that !!!
I fit like you if the prints been laminated but have seen this
    R tape digi mask

DigiMask Digital Print Protection assures affordable
surface protection for all your digital
    graphics… particularly during shipping,
    handling and installation.
    Supplied 1220mm wide.
    Seamless Installation
    DigiMask Digital premasks are an
    excellent installation aid for vehicle

Been fitting MD5 and MD3 and I like fitting but think I could be even faster with this bubble free material, time for a try I think. Great work mate

cheers Rich, that’s interesting, never heard of it, I have used Avery900 to wrap solid colours before, very thin and difficult to work with as a rookie, the large orange rectangles on the side logo’s are Avery900, used it due to the curved/angled recess in the corner (also had some left over from the wrap job I did 🙄 and it just happened to be an identical colour match to Oracle 751c 😉 )

I’ll be doing my family car next :lol1:

    cheers

The top one could have done with about half the amount of text on it, or a more modern font. I imagine it was one of those where the customer got his way to the detriment of the design?

Your own van is superbly fitted, it does look a bit like an events company or party organisers though, rather than signs.

Yeah, all the fonts are what they always use for all their branding and is always the same, they also wanted all that info and at that size too, I tried to make it smaller but they asked me to change it back 👿

They were over the moon with it as was I, it looks really really good in the flesh.

    cheers

Getting very good Warren. Keep going without using app tape. Even though some app tapes conform etc you have full control without app tape especially things like around bumpers and mirrors.

Only time I’d probably consider app tape is if I was doing an install in very hot conditions and the film was prone to stretching just but the tension you would be applying by hand.

    Hi Warren,

i think you’re right to have tried to reduce the text size, I like the over-all look and layout, but the text just looks a little too much for me, But, if the custoer is happy, and got what he wanted, then who are we to stand on a soapbox and criticise him!?

good work though, you’ve more confidence then me with wrap stuff! i really should try and afford myself a class, if only to improve general vinyl app,

    re the outlines,
someone told me to use them as a guide only for showing layout. where possible take a measurement from the van to scale it correctly, and if ya can’t do that, then scale it all down 10-15%.

happened to me on the "it’s a dogs life" van, al too big, got away with it, but not ideal!

    keep at it dude.
