Estate agent boards
Posted by Lorraine Buchan on February 5, 2003 at 11:59 amHi
Can anyone tell me where i can get the fixings for estate agent boards.
The ones i’m talking about are the things used to attach the SOLD or LET panel to the main board.
Thanks

…Lorraine,
though I don’t do much in Corex (fluted plastic board), when I need to fix other pieces to the main board I use the little white plastic nuts and bolts use to fix car number plates!
they’re available in white and yellow (obviously 😛 ) are easy to tighten by hand and, as they’re nylon, they don’t work loose either…
from memory I pay about 50p per set? (1 nut and 1 bolt)…
hope that helps
more soon

Lorraine, I know what you are talking about but I cant remember where I saw them, I think it was P.O.S. (Point of Sale) that had them but I cant find their brochure to check.

The POS centre don’t do plastic nuts and bolts, only a sleeved type fixing like hold 2 MFI cupboards together.
Try this link, they do what you need.

Lorraine,
Try All Thread Plastics of Basildon in Essex on 01268-726559.
They do Plastic/Nylon Wing Nuts, Washers and Bolts by the bag and cheap at that!
Only trouble is I can’t find them in our latest Yellow Pages so they may have moved????
If no good look under Fittings and Fasteners or Plastic Suppliers in Yellow Pages.

Peter, it wasnt nuts and bolts I was thinking about that was Mikes idea. I thought I could remember seeing something in the POS brochure to hold the inserts Lorraine was talking about, sort of like a sleeve. If you have one of their brochures could you have a look through it please as I cant find mine.

They do an item called an interscrew on page 43, available 3.5 to 50mm in plastic, Brass Nickel, Brass, Silver Nickel.
Each part has a large disc head, one has male thread, one has female sleeve.
