Does anyone know of any environmentally friendly alternatives to Foamex?

We’ve got a load of graphic panels to do for a company and they don’t like the idea of a plastic (which is fair enough). They’ve sent us some sprayed wood and the prints aren’t sticking very well. MDF isn’t an option because of the glues used to make it… I’ve run out of ideas for them.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a readily available product in sheet form that we could buy in to service this job.

The panels will have prints mounted to them, they’re to be a permanent indoor installation.

    Help!

recycled plastic sheeting. You could maybe also think about wood, taken from a sustainable source it’s as environmentally friendly as anything else.

Edit: you also get ‘xtra’ from Robert Horne, this has a black recylced pvc core with standard pvc to both faces in 10mm and is single sided in 3/5mm with white one side and black on the reverse.

Cheers Gavin, this looks like a good place to start… Wood is the ideal solution but they’ve been looking at sourcing Iroko or Idigbo and I’m not so sure how environmentally friendly these are when they’ve travelled half way around the world to get here!

aluminum is recyclable, but a bit more expensive.

Robert Horne sell "recycled" foamex equivalent. we use this if foamex is stipulated. due to it being recycled from waste, the rear is black but has a pure white face.
