try searching for ‘t-jet’ or similar on this site, there has been some discussion, as far as I remember.

Cheers Lorraine… has anyone experience with these machines? how easy is it to frame a t shirt? or even get it square? cheers all…

they look quality matey
one sold on ebay yesterday for 5k! -
I have seen the maching running a few times, sent them a image to be printed onto dark tshirts but it wasn’t great so decided not to go for it.
They blamed the pic saying that you would have to treak it several times to get the desired result but that’s no good if your after a machine for doing one off’s 🙄

Not so good – We demo’d one – their sales and service stink in my opinion.
Just paid £13k for a similar machine that does White inks – we were really impressed with the results.

hi nick
please elaborate on why you have this opinion over this company? -
Hi Robert
Back when the Machines first cam out over here, the T-Jet was considered the market leader – we demo’d it at an exhibition and were, on the surface impressed with what it could do – this was back in the pre White ink days.
After the show we recieved virtually a call every day from sales staff who had very little, if any product knowledge and could not answer any questions – it was an all singing and dancing machine we were told…. It could do everything, never need to screen print again. We even contacted the then ‘Sole’ UK Supplier – who told us that there were now 3 ‘sole’ suppliers in the UK – breaking the contract that they had and telling us several horror stories about the Company. The T-Jet cannot do most of what it is claimed to do – you need seperate ink feed systems to print onto Textiles and Signs (Non Garments) – this the T-Jet Could’nt (or still cannot do) achieve simultaneously. The Lack of a fully integrated dealer package didnt help either, no advice on servicing or after sales service. The Consumables we were told could only be purchased from them. All in all we were not impressed.
After 2 years we have just ordered a machine which suits our purpose, it is not entry level but we got a days hands on experience in using the machine and certainly were never pressured to buy. I am happy to keep you all posted on how we get on with the machine as after all the product is only as good as its after sales service.
IMHO that is why I would never consider purchasing a T-Jet. -
I´ve seen demos of the various makes at exhibitions and was very impressed with the results.
However, I´ve read a lot of reviews from users on http://www.t-shirtforums.com
The consensus of opinions on this site have put me off buying.MagicTouch are launching a transfer system called WOW for printing full colour onto dark garments. Works with a CLC. Looks like this could be a real breakthrough, although the materials might be expensive … I´ve heard 5 GBP per. A4. I´m waiting for samples so can´t give you any more info.

Wow is Old Hat – there is a company in the States called The Paper Ranch that has been selling this type (if not the same) of paper for at least 2 Years.
I had samples of it in 2005 – It will not ‘Rock your world’ as it is Toner Based. You even need an OKI Printer for best results (on both Companies Paper – what a coincidence!)Wow is IMHO a product that has been around a bit and is Ok for certain applications, it will never replace screen printing, just as a T-Jet can’t but it can offer something – just dont fall for the ‘New’ Hype

Thanks for that, NICKSWINDON. I agree the hype rarely matches the reality. But if the WOW stuff works, (durability will be the main issue) it´s a helluvalot cheaper than Direct to Garment Printers.
Any more info. would be much appreciated.Chris

What made me purchase a DTG machine is the ease of use/production – same as you with the ‘wow’ papers.
Have you an OKI printer? You need to face the fact that some papers will not work with certain laser printers – this could be a cost problem.
Look at http://www.thepaperranch.com and see if you can spot the similarity to TMT products – all except the price!!!
-
Forgot to mention that the product in the US is called Photo-Trans Image Clip.
I got a call from TMT in February about this new WOW paper, Jon Burton told me that it was unique – I asked him if it performed on OKI Lasers only and was told "was I a mind reader".There is a Nick Marshall working at TMT – only other person I have ever met with my name too – we are not related either !!

Nick if you dont mind, what is the machine you have just purchased?? We have been toying with the MS-1 it is an italian machine similiat to the t-jet in claims, but I am finding the same situation with a lack of answers to my questions etc etc.
cheers

Hi
No problem – we have a Kiosk HM-1 – the one that does White Inks.
The reason I went with a Kiosk is that I wanted UK Support – the T-Jet one of my Customers uses has a US Support Number and problems getting Consumables – this is fine with my machine although spending £11K on a machine I use once a week is a little funny in hindsight.

hi nick,
thanks for that! Are you happy with it? We probably sell about 1000 t-shirts a month at the moment, I appreciate this is not a large quantity,(and not enough to justify our own screen printing set up) but we have been farming them out to a screen printer locally. I am wondering whether one of these machines will mean we can keep it in house.the sales people assure me these machines can do virtually anything, but I fear it is just a step up from weeding shirt vinyl and TMT products.
very interested in your experience and opinions
cheers

If you print a lot of White T-Shirts then its an absolute Goldmine – its tricky to use the White ink but I suffer because my machine is not constantly running. Make sure of the Customer Support and you are laughing. I am actually in the T-Shirt Business as a Wholesaler so know which shirts print the best – this is a big factor too!!
