    Hi gang!

    I have come across these floor graphics a few times when browsing the web and i was wondering if anyone does this type of work?

    I think it is a great idea for weddings, parties and other special occasions. the best part is it is indoors and it is something i could do myself with an extra set of hands. my questions are.
    do they really need laminated for one day/evening?
    do i need to use a special vinyl for this type of thing?
    any tips would be great, thank you!

    on a side note, i have already done something similar for a theatre stage and it worked great, but i wasn’t as concerned because it is a hard wearing wooden stage floor. These are fancy venues and gym hall type floors.

    i have seen this sort of thing before but never really gave it a thought. but you are right, that would be worth offering. 😎The smallest dance floor must be around 12ft x 12 ft

      thanks Mark.

      i think that 12 foot x 12 foot would be pretty small for weddings or events, but even that size would be good.
      i am thinking that banners and roll up banner stands could all be put together with the floor as a type of event package. πŸ˜€

    We do a few textile hanging drops foe weddings marquees – Latex printable fabric with rod pockets sewn in at each end.

    Hi Leslie

    I think it is a great idea, it gives you a new aspect of your business to promote without a lot of effort.
    As you have said:

    * Dance floor graphics
    * Reception floor entrance graphics
    * Roll-up banner stands
    * Banners
    * Personalised Table centres

    Just make yourself up a PDF or webpage promoting the options and an approximate price.

    Promoting it via a dedicated Facebook page or something would be a good idea, but you will always get the tyre-kicker enquiries and everyone wanting it for nothing, approach. If it were me, I would push it towards the hotels and event halls that host this type of event. Give them the fee and their commission discount/rate.

    Floor graphics. It is a hard one to judge…
    I am guessing your prints will not be down for any longer than 48-72 hours, so the bond won’t be high regardless of what you use, and as long as it is laminated, it should come away fine. However…
    The trade-off is always going to be the floor surface. If it is smooth and shiny, the bond will be higher. So you should be looking for a removable low-bond digital vinyl.
    If the floor is pretty worn wood or painted, then the low bond might not be the best. But the low bond will at least always give you some reassurance of lifting off more easily.

    On a side note, we have supplied huge floor graphics to galleries all over the world for the past 20 years. We have used various cast and calendered films. and lots using oracal 551a and 751c, as well as water-based adhesive films.
