  • CorelDraw X7 – does it work on 64 bit operating systems?

Posted by Richard Such on September 2, 2014 at 8:15 am

    Guys,

I can’t seem to find a definite answer to this very simple question . . . . Is the new X7 64 bit as standard or are there two versions, none of the places that have it for sale state what it is.

There seems to be dodgy sites offering me free downloads of a 64 bit version (no thanks) but no genuine sellers stating that its 64 bit?

This makes me think its only 64

Any help greatly appreciated….. p.s. cheapest I’ve found is £280 plus the VAT, any better deals??

    Cheers Rich

X7 will work fine on a 32 bit machine. I am using it now on a 32 bit Win7 machine and all testing was also done on this machine.
    The only variations are:
    full retail version
Educational version ( can’t confirm but usually VBA is disabled so macros and some cutting utilities won’t work – upgrading is normally not allowed either)
Retail version has ‘Standard’ Membership and a paid for option of ‘Premium’ membership. Premium has additional online content and additional tools which will be in the next version when it is released, you basically get them a bit earlier. The standard membership is more than enough for most signmakers, out and out designers may appreciate the extra content.
For full info goto http://www.Corel.com or http://www.coreldraw.com and there is a 30day trial version available for download

Thanks Alan, I was only really hoping that it was now 64 bit to utilise my machines ‘gumpf’

Think I’ll just get it ordered, the odd numbers always seem to be the best!! 🙂

It has been written to utilise 64 bit and multi threads so it will be quicker on such a machine, I was just saying that 32 bit machines have no issues either.
X7 does look slightly different and to be honest I was not a fan at the beginning but after a while you get to appreciate the changes and the benefits some of them bring.

Not sure if you found out in the end, I’m running windows 8 64bit and have X7 installed, runs fine 🙂

I went through the online chat to get mine as an upgrade from X5 as X5 isn’t Windows 8 compatible – I got it for £173.38 all in (as I say, that was an upgrade price) should have been £215 I think.
