Problem with exporting AI it sometimes puts cut lines through the design, when i cut for other signmakers i always suggested EPS from Corel but was cutting in Flexi never had any problems but did when we got AI files.

We have signlab print and cut, and import from PDF’s out of illustrator. On a recent training course at Signmaster the guy from signlab suggested this was the safest option, however illustrator may add numerous ‘clipping masks’.
Although it’s yet to be a problem for us, as I just use the contour cut function in signlab.

If it’s vectors only, I use DXF. One thing to check is that the shapes are either FILLED ONLY or OUTLINE ONLY otherwise you could end up with two outlines and the cutter will cut twice.

As a SignLab user I’ve always asked for an eps file and more recently a pdf as well, following a recommendation from Cadlink however the Contour Cut function is a brilliant last ditch option.
