  • Colorific Elite – question on its durability ?

I have been using this brand of ink for many years now but lately I have noticed it is much less durable than it used to be and I find the ink can be rubbed off a print with very little effort whereas in the past it was much more durable. Anyone else noticed this?

Yes I noticed this the other week on the yellow. I had printed some black and yellow stickers and the black was fine as it should be but the yellow wasn’t bonding to the vinyl surface properly. I called Colorific and they replaced the ink under their inkstream warranty. Bit concerned that you have found this as well as either the product has changed or QC needs to be improved.

And there was me just pondering whether to change from the Roland Ecosol Max inks to the Colourific version.

Was the replacement ink any better Steve?

    Hi Phil,
The guy rang from colorific to see if ink had arrived and that it was ok, as it wasn’t in the machine at the time I tested it with a swab dipped in the ink and painted it to the vinyl, so not exactly the same as printing with it, it seems ok but printing may give different results. Something I did notice about a year a go was that the yellow changed colour. I have clear cartridges as it is a bulk ink set up and when filling the yellow from a new bottle you could see the old ink was bright yellow the stuff was more a golden yellow, makes no difference on the prints but in the tank you could see the change in colour so the yellow ink has certainly changed a little.
