    I haven’t used it but, there is a 3M one. I don’t think it’s air release though.

In all the years I have been installing wraps, I can only remember a few occasions that I have required the use of a clear wrapping film, and they were for “part wraps”.

From memory, we have just used a clear cast vinyl, printed to that and laminated using same.
Again, from memory, it was most likely Oracal or Arlon that was used.

wrapping clear is not the easiest due to the squeegee pressure and direction marks left behind as it is much more visible. You also must keep in mind that your fingers will leave marks all over the rear of the film where you handle it during the application. so allow plenty extra for this too.

also, keep in mind, the vehicle must be white or the print colours will not work properly without the white backing of the vinyl or a white ink.

Thanks rob. Yes ive thought about all the issues regarding fitting and colours. The main reason for this is with part wrap, especially lorries, the white vinyl is off to the bodywork colour. The vehicle white has an almost slight cream tone to it which sets off against the vinyl where they meet. Tyring to make it as suttle as possible but i know we are not magicians

3M do a clear cast with air release that can be printed. Looks great over silver or pearl finish. Most jobs I’ve seen though have been black graphics (Halloween images etc) on metallic or white vehicles.
