    Hi Mike, me old mucka

Is there no way you can take the fingers off and get them shotblasted then repaint. Other than that I think you will be polishing a turd..😂😂🤓

As Graham suggests, definitely better to sandblast them.

if you already have a compressor buy one fo these portable sandblasters, they are brilliant to have handy. I think i paid about £30 from eBay for mine. paper suit and mask and it quickly take it back to the bare metal giving you a great surface to work on.

after cleaning them up, paint the whole thing black and then using a short hair 4 inch roller with very little paint on it, just lightly hit the high ground of the letters. do that a few times to build the white coat up and your done!

I just noticed I have my colours back to front. that should be painted the whole thing white and then the black letters.

There are other ways, but I think they would be more time-consuming. By that, mean hand paint the letters black after painting the whole thing white. Granted a traditional signwriter could probably do it in jig-time with his eyes closed. Smiley
