    We use SL8 and I don’t believe you can. I export to Photoshop etc if this is needed, especially when providing visuals of etch on glass.
    SL9 has this feature though.

    You can do this in Signlab 9 and also create fades in vectors or images to a transparency. fully working trial is available for download from website, 10 days of play!
