    quote Stuart Davies:

I don`t think dust is the problem, the printer is in a almost dust-free room, and I do regular maintenance and cleaning.

The start of the prints are usually good, but after about 1 meter in the print it starts, but only on the right side. 😕

Hi 🙂 could be not enough heat on that side of the roll check if the heat area is working properly also could be static or if that roll was standing straight on humid cold floor on that side I had same problem it’s pretty much your material no hot enough I think someone else might have other notes you got photos?

    looks like PVC banner…
i had this in the past… when the roll is wound up it may have like a dusty feel to it or it has stuck to the roll. Does it make a lot of noise when it unwinds?

I think its a coating issue… bad roll.

I have also had it on the takeup, where the ink is not fully dry but are you shouwing this after the roll has been takenup?

Is it always on the same media? Do rolls of different media show the same problem?

On another note, what do you think of your 30600 (apart from the white blotches)? How long have you had it etc?

my reply is a bit of what nancy is suggesting.
could it be the first metre or so of your roll is contaminated?
unless clipped closed on a rack, hanging loose media can pickup air born dust and the like prior to printing.
equally the roll, perhaps you have bought a "part roll" which is contaminated?
this sort of thing isnt uncommon with vehicle wrap media sold as part rolls.

I would agree with the above posts but it would be helpful if you gave us your heat settings and media name/type.

    Hi:)

    Thanks for your replys!

I have now done a good clean and changed to another roll (3M IJ40), and the result is 100% again 🙂

I havent tried the other roll that had the problems (Orajet 3551) after the cleaning yet.

I`m new to big format printing so I learn on each job 🙂

I also did a nozzle check before the cleaning, and I noticed that is was clogged on the yellow, Its hard to see clogged nozzles on that color so maybe I havent noticed that problem on my last nozzle checks.

@Jonathan, I`m very pleased with my 30600, as mentioned I`m new at this but its very easy at use, the print quality is amazing too!

Good news, glad it’s now sorted. Would also love to hear any feedback you have about the printer.

Hi Vegard, a tip for viewing the Yellow nozzle check is use a uv/blacklight.

Clearly a karma issue — and enough people thinking positively towards you sorted it out. That’s what the UKSB circle of love is all about…
