Hi Nigel
I would advise getting the vehicle in and left with you for 30-40 minutes to work out how you intend tackling the job. by that I mean, how you will panel it, where will you create hidden joins, if any, work out how you will do the door jams and get accurate sizes.
How you will get the doors off and work on them. (doors are heavy)
This may sound over-kill but doing the door shuts etc is a lengthy process and not something I would even consider without being paid properly for. the door shuts really do need to be seen in the flesh also, some are smooth and easy, some are difficult and have multiple steps in them making it a nightmare and time-consuming.
panelling for wrapping.
have a look at the photo attached of the car. if its a coupe, like shown. you will need a single piece of vinyl to go from around the corner to the inside of the boot at the light, and over and down the window pillar at the front. you may get to include the door in that, but that will depend on how you intend bringing the vinyl in from the back to the door and “into the door jam” in one bit, or cutting down the gap of the door and folding in the 5mm flap with a join in the door jam.
also, keep in mind the probability of the boot interior needing wrapped too. not a lot of vinyl, but not easy unless the boots removed too.
hard to explain, but when all these things are taken into account, 17 metres can be easily swallowed up and not priced for.
furthermore, if this is a new car or newish, “you” removing doors etc will void the owner’s Warranty. I know nobody actually cares about this wrapping cars, but should that door not go back on as planned and not sitting just right when closed. either BMW will foot the bill or you for tampering with the car. just saying to be careful mate.
