    Hi.
We have just employed a designer.
He’s designing in either photoshop or illustrator.

We print using the signlab rip.

What is the best file formate for him to save the job as, for printing on the mimaki.? JPEG, tiff, png,

This is for printing banners etc
    Thanks

Eps or PDF. Or a High quality Jpeg if its a Bitmap only.

For simplicity save as jpg with max quality. This will keep any compression artifacts to a minimum.
Be aware that you will be limited to anything up to 30,000 pixels in any dimension so plan accordingly.
Most banners can be 120 to 180 dpi at full size and look good.

Photoshop can have ‘issues’ maintaining image size…so save the size as part of the file name to prevent wrongly sided prints!!

EPS will give good vector results out of illustrator or PDF for both…just watch for the image compression in the PDF if it contains bitmapped images.
