Another label question – Sorry
Posted by Dan on September 23, 2020 at 8:49 amMorning everyone
I need a white matt material to print labels, the client was to write dates on them hence the matt finish.
Any suggestions on media?
I’ve been offered Oracal 3164 and Poli Print 805 which is considerably cheaper but i’ve not used either.
The labels are for internal use only.

Slight preference towards Orajet, but we use both of these, and either would be OK for cheap labels.
-
Why is that Jamie?
I know the Orajet is thicker but other than that I can’t see any difference and I hate buying on price but it’s £50 a roll cheaper for a 1600 x 50m roll

Oracal/Orajet are a massive manufacturer. I’ve heard of Polytape, never used them. We use a fair bit of 3164 for cheap stickers/labels.
If you’re being offered Polytape £50 cheaper than orajet, I’d be going back to whoever quoted you on 3164 and ask them to sharpen their pencil

I just prefer the feel of Orajet, although there’s not a lot in it. We pay around the same price for either. As David says, you may want to negotiate your Orajet price. Mind me asking what you pay?

You definitely need to negotiate on the Orajet. I pay about £40 – £45 less than that on the 1600 roll.

Metamark MDP matt version, 100microns so easier for customer to peel and stick, also available as a High Tack version.
We go through this heavily for fire stickers etc

I did get a price for that but it was too much for what I wanted to pay.
