  • Advice sought on exhibition display

    Hi all,

My client asked for an freestanding display, about 6′ high by 2-3′ wide that’s freestanding, preferably with feet at the bottom like a tv stand.

I’m thinking that a poster case would be more appropriate, maybe using those flashy curved aluminium displays from Ashby’s, and I get the poster digitally printed. The client would prefer something that’s powder-coated.

Anybody have ideas, suggestions etc on the best way of doing this?

    Thanks,

    J.B.

have to say mate.. ashbys is the best & cheapest way to go..
    get an illuminated one..
i searched high and low for directory signs recently.. the one i like and the customer preferred ended up a rip off… two free standing poles holeding engraved clear slats 6 off about 4 inches by 24 inches and one 24 inch x 15 inches. edge lit! what did they want? well if i ordered 5 like i needed “my bill” was £6000+ the hight was only 5 foot.. i nearly fell over never mind give the customer his price..

so me, being me, come up with a new solution. fabricate myself, cost about £70 markup? well ive still to decide 😆 😆 when i get round to making it ill show the final pictures.. see what you think for yourself. 😉

Can’t wait to see your mark-up!!

I thought Ashby’s didn’t do Illuminated stuff? Can’t say I’m impressed with their sales staff. The lady there couldn’t paint a picture in my mind to describe the stand, how the case closes etc.- and if I can’t buy what I can’t visualize, my client ain’t buying blind either! Think I’d better talk to the manager instead!

Cheers Rob, and post the pics here when you get them!

call them ask for brochures on the freestanding totem poles. illuminated and non.. they have one with prices and one without so you can show customers. loading them is a doddle.. nothing techy..
just request the brochures and wait.. very nice and easy to work with.. 😉
