    Hi Guys and Girls

Been a long time since Ive been on here so hello again 😀

We have recentley purchased a Vs540 & are now looking at purchasing a Laminator, we have been offered many models some with Heated roller upto 40 /60 degress & then others that go upto 120 !

Not sure when the higher heat is needed as upto now we have always cold laminated (using a easymount 720 cold laminator) without too much trouble, but as we are to make a new investment I would like your input as to when it is neccessary to laminate with temperatures over 60 degrees ?

    Makes & Models ?

Any help would be gratefully recieved ! (?)

As far as I understood, the higher temperature laminators required hot laminates (only used for paper lamination/encapsulation?) although they also laminate cold.

The laminators with lower temperature do require cold laminates only, the cold laminates are only heated a little bit, I guess it is for best adhesion but not sure, I own myself only cold laminators.

So unless you want to laminate papers, a hot laminator is no use for you.

Could someone confirm what I wrote?

heated rollers apparently help reduce silvering.

I do a certain job that involves loads of laminating, and most of the matt finished require running through a hot machine to remove silvering.

The really hot ones are as said probably suited to encapsulation: Which does have it’s uses.
